A Weekend Away Just For Two

The Adagio
This weekend my sweet Honey took me to a B&B in Denver for some R&R without the kids (Thanks to our parents).
Having never been to a Bed and Breakfast it was kind of weird at first. But the house was so cool. It was built in 1880. It is really amazing how they built houses then. So much detail and craftsmanship. I would love to live in a house like this! I just couldn't believe how big it was. The whole time we were there I couldn't help thinking what it must have been like to live in it back then.
After we checked in we went to see the King Tut exhibit at the Denver Art Museum. I loved all the gold jewelry. Then we drove around for awhile looking for a place to eat. Scott and Jen gave us the suggestion to try the Texas de Brazil. It was a prefect choice! This place is amazing!! They have a buffet of salads, veggies, cheeses and bread and more. So we get that first then when we were back at the table, and ready, we turned over our green disks. Then It began. Before we knew it we were being swarmed by guys buzzing around the room with different meats (lamb ribs, pork tender loin, fillet minion, roasted chicken, prime rib, and more I can't think of). Sherman and I had a plate to share between us and it was hard to keep up. Way fun, and desert was so good (we picked some kind of chocolate deliciousness).
Sunday morning we had a real french toast breakfast with sausage at the B&B and got to meet the owner, Helen. She is a very sweet lady. Then we caught the 15 down to the 16th street mall. Spent some time walking up and down looking in the stores before catching another bus to the Bronco stadium. The pregame show was fun. They had guys drop in with parachutes and had a stealth bomber fly over. Having Becca and Travis there was fun too. It was nice to get to tease a Chiefs fan up close (thanks Travis for being such a good sport). The Broncos thrashed them. Good game.(didn't hurt they helped me beat my brother-in-law's fantasy football team either)
We stayed Sunday night and came back in the snow Monday morning. I got to make a stop in Silverthorne to hit the outlet stores and got a new coat(YEA, me!). We got back just in time to order pizza to feed the missionaries. Thank you so much Sweetie, for the fantastic weekend! I love you!

...Butterflies, Bugs and Spiders Oh My!

The visit to the Butterfly Pavilion was probable my favorite.
They had a tarantula named Rosey that you could hold. All of the kids did except Savy who wanted nothing to do with it.
Annalyn was obsessed with the cockroaches. They were definitely not my favorite.

The butterfly were the biggest hit. They were every where and so many different kinds. Annalyn would not leave them alone and chased them all over.
The Pavilion had extra stuff going that weekend like a butterfly release for which are kids sat in front. This was much to the speakers chagrin because Matthew is loud and likes to ask A LOT of question...and He did.
They also had a rock climbing wall, a lady bug release, a craft station, a trail mix station, and apparently a bird watching class. We couldn't find Grandpa for a while and were starting to panic that something had happened when he and Scott came out of the class. Thanks for telling us guys. All in all this was a great place to visit.

...Girly Stuff and The Rock Pile

Going to visit the girl cousins means playing dress up! Guess who was in HEAVEN.
Yep, the Boo monkey. She could hardly stand it she was so excited to see all the girl stuff. And look how preeetty!
Later it was off to the Rock Pile to watch the Rockies play the Dodgers.
I think she was less impressed. But it was a good game and we all enjoyed it.

Fun While We Waited....

...We went to the Aquarium Downtown. While we where there they were practicing with their peregrine falcon. It was an awesome bird. While it was training there was other random birds that were dive bombing at it. The keeper said they do that every time the predator bird is out as a defense.
We were excited to get inside and see the fish but first stopped to get pictures in the dive suit.
And the shark's jawbone. I love Matthew's face here.
There was a lot to see and a lot of us to see it. The Toucan, the big Salmon, the Sting-ray that Annalyn was kissing are just a few.
The touch tank was neat. Even Annalyn thought it was fun to touch the starfish.
The boys took turns climbing the palm trees and they all made it to the top. For Nic getting up was easy. The weight of the pulley system was slightly more than he was. It helped pull him up but almost didn't let him down.
Just as we were leaving this keeper brought a python out. Even Annalyn loved that.
Had to share this video. These are Piranha.
