Annlayn's baby quilt is to small no more. With the left over fabric I had(from Not making the bumpers for her crib)I was able to make it bigger.

She was so thrilled!

Girls Camp

Paula and I came up with the very ambitious idea of having the girls do quilt blocks at crafts this year.

483 blocks that's 1449 pieces to cut and sandwich together!!!!

 Here it is laid out at home in preparation for sandwiching.

We had each of the girls and leaders come and make write on here own block on the first day and on the that night the sewing began...

...it took ALL night and most of the next day.

That time is kind of a blur really...so I will just to the end result.
All this work for a very special guy who give and give and give of his time and energy year round to making girls camp better every year!

 Brad Swenson has made cabins, platforms, latrines and more!

All for the girls to be comfortable and safe.

So was it worth it?

Most Definitely!!!

Canning and Sewing

I apparently didn't get enough sewing out of the Halloween costumes this year because I haven't been able to stop. I found some great material at my mother-in-laws house and then bought some as well. I've just been sewing up a storm and I'm not looking to stop too soon. I still have several more shirts, a bear and some repairs to do.
I took a break from sewing yesterday to help can the apples we got from Brother Luke. It was so nice of him to let us come pick his apples for free. We will enjoy them all winter long. We made applesauce, apple butter and apple pie filling.
Annalyn loved helping turn the crank and lick the spatula. Nic helped by turning the apple peeler, which is the coolest thing ever!
