The A-team was bringing their A-game this year at the Black Canyon Sprint Triathlon.
This year the team was split like this:
*the kids- Matthew did the swim, Nicholas did the bike, Shermie did the run
Tuffer did the whole thing himself.
*the adults- Steve did the swim, Julie did the bike and Lynette did the run.
Grandma, Boo, and Dad rounded out the team as the Support Crew.
Tuffer and Matthew were the first ones in the pool
Tuffer and Jack Jordan neck and neck in the swim.

Nic was off...

...but didn't get too far. Shortly after heading out I got a
call on my cell phone saying that Nicholas had wrecked his bike. I
grabbed my bike and quickly took off in the direction Nicholas had left.
He had reached a portion of the course that was temporarily not marked
(the person stationed as a guide was taking a potty break). Nic, a few
other kids and a dad (who happens to be friends with us, Ashley Jordan)
took a wrong turn and started going up the switch backs of a hill.
Ashley shortly realized they were off course and turned everyone around.
As Nic was turning around he took a header off the side of the switch
backs falling head over bike and rolling down until he smacked his face
on the pavement. As a result he had several bumps, scraps, bruises and a
broken front tooth. Thankfully Ashley had stayed with him and had quickly gotten help. When I arrived Nic was standing and walking with his bike accompanied
by Ashley and an EMT. He looked like he was OK(aside form the tooth) and
after talking to him for a minute and promising to ride with him if he
wanted to finish, he decided to finish the race! So on we went to meet
Shermie for the run.
Tuffer going out on the bike.

He finished his bike and run before Nic and I made it back from the bike.

Tuffer waited at the end of the bike to cheer Nic the rest of the way in!

Shermie then left for his run. We missed a picture of the time chip exchange, but we definitely got him finishing!
All this time Grandpa had been waiting to get in the pool
So when it was finally his turn he was really ready! And may I just say how proud I am of all the hard work he has put in to train! AWESOME!
Lynette and I goofing around while he was swimming.
Steve done and out I go.
Timing chip exchange and she's gone.
Waiting to Cheer her in!
Here comes Lynette!
Finish Line!
Awards! The boys took 2nd place! Even after the wreck! Way to finish the Race!
Tuffer took 3rd place for his individual race! Nicholas isn't to worse for the ware. Just a few battle wounds.
