Boys Night of Camping

At 5:30 Saturday afternoon Sherman Peter decided to take the boys camping at Highline lake. (he asked me if I wanted to go, my response was that I had a hard enough time getting comfortable in bed let alone on the ground so no thank you) They helped set up the tent, with everyone taking turns hammering in the stakes. (gratefully they didn't hammer each other)
They roasted hot dogs for dinner and keep warm by the fire. Two of their favorite things, hot dogs and fire.

Snug as bugs in a rug. I think they took every blanket we own, at least that's what appears to be in my laundry room now. (as though I just didn't have enough laundry and it WAS caught up)

They love spending time with their Dad. It's good that the snow storm we had held off till Sunday night or they would have had a lot more fun than planned. They had a great time!

4yrs, Nicholas William Alexander

Happy Birthday too our little goofball. We are so happy to have him. He keeps us laughing and is the happiest kid I know.
When he was born, I went in to be induced at about 8:30a.m. Labor started at about 12:30 and he was born at 2:45p.m. I couldn't have planned a better labor and delivery he was the easiest for sure.
His brother's were very excited to have yet another brother to aide in their conquests for mayhem.
He weighted 7lbs 7.2 oz and was 20inches long.

Happy birthday Nicker-Bocker!

Spring?.....In Grand Junction

One week into Spring and this is what we get. We went from 7o degrees to snow in the blink of an eye, go figure. Thank you, Grand Junction weather.

Every time It snows Nicholas wants to know if Santa Claus is coming. Not this month.

9 Yrs, Sherman Carter Alexander 3-20-00

Here is the Cutest, Sweetest Baby in the world! (one of them anyway) I went into labor early in the morning on the first day of spring, it was snowing. I labored at home until about 5:00 p.m. when Sherman Peter came home from work. At that point we went to the hospital to be checked. When I got there I was already at a 6 cm. They gave me some medicine, then I went down the hall to get into the jacuzzi. I was in it for one contraction and felt the need to push so they rushed me back to my room and called Dr. Howell. You were born at 6:57 after two pushes.
You had dark hair and weighed 7lbs 14oz and were 22 inches long. You had a little trouble breathing so you stayed in the NI CU for one week.

Mom stayed the whole week in a little courtesy room, that looked like a closet, so she would be close to you. Dad came every night after work and stayed too. We were so glad to finally bring you home! Dad watched you sleep all night because with every noise you made he wanted to make sure you were alright.
We are so luck to have such a good kid! You brighten our home with your smile and humor. You are so smart and we are always impressed with the things you come up with. You are such a good helper and I appreciate all you do. Your brothers look up to you and love you because you are such a good example to them. You are growing to quickly for me. Thank you for choosing to come to our family.
Happy Birthday Sherman Carter! We love you so much!!

My Best Friend

Isn't he handsome!?

How could I have possible said, "no" when he asked me to marry him 10 years ago. I can't believe we have been married that long. We have had ups and downs, hard times and good and it has always been worth every second.

He makes me laugh when I don't want to laugh. He picks on me incisively, which just means he loves me. I don't know what I would do with out him (though I might be a little saner). I love when we stay up late talking and laughing. I love sharing our life together. Watching our four boys grow (and learn his tricks of teasing). He is such a good and caring daddy. He is already protective of little Annalyn, which I adore. He is my best friend, the one I turn to, the one who supports me, the one I will be with FOR-E-VER. (yep, honey your stuck)

Happy Anniversary, Honey, I love you with all my heart! I look forward to whatever comes next as long as I'm with you. (Check out the last four song on the playlist they are just for you. Two new song at the bottom of the play list, the last one makes me laugh it's by Bobby SHERMAN and is called, JULIE, do you love me)

Leprechauns!!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! The boys were all prepared with their green shirt to protect them from any pinching. They were surprised by the visit that we had from some naughty Leprechauns. We took pictures of their activity and when we pulled the pictures up on the computer it revealed the tiny culprits. Here they are so you can watch out for them too. These guys ate a whole box of cereal and did not leave any gold.
This guy would have been caught had we known he was there, those sneaky buggers!
Just before Nicholas reached for a piece of candy he was gone!

They did leave some goodies so they can't be all that bad, Right?

Next year we vow to be more prepared with a couple of sneaky traps to caught them. We wouldn't mind some of that Leprechaun Gold! Watch out and Good Luck!!

More Pictures of Annalyn

It looks like she will take after her brothers and look like her dad. (dang those Alexander genes at leased they are good) But those are some cute little kissie lips.

This is another of the few pictures we were able to get. She is a sweet little thing.

She was not much for cooperating today. She had both feet up over her head and her hands around her ears, effectively covering her face for most of the time. That just doesn't look comfortable to me but, hey what ever works for her.

Here is how we saw her most of the time.

Everything look good except the fluid was in the normal but low range and she is breech for now. There is still plenty of time for her to turn and they will check the fluid every two weeks to keep an eye on it, so no worries yet.

THANK YOU, Mom for sitting with the boys!!! It was A LOT of help!!! love you.

Slave Labor Week Rocks!

This week the boys are home for spring break. As a mean mom this means they can help with some serious cleaning. They cleaned rooms, vacuumed hall ways, washed windows, put dishes away and switched laundry. ( aaaah, if this only meant less work for me, those of you who have children help know it is not the case but worth the lesson) They did a great job! Matthew and Tuffer insisted on having a check list which, hey, works for me. The two of them where fun to watch as they ran around checking things off there list. It was surprisingly effective.

As a reward, because I'm not that mean of a mom, they got to go to Cold Stone for ice cream afterward. I let them pick a flavor and a topping which they thought was great. They even managed to behave while we where there.

Such goofy boys! Tomorrow we tackle the laundry and yard work. After this week the house should shine! whooahahahaha!

O.K. This Gave Me Chills

I totally stole this from a friends blog. It is so powerful I felt the need to pass it on. Be mindful of the times at hand.

Please take a couple of minutes to listen to this sound bite from you tube. It is Glenn Beck and Ezra Taft Benson (former Sec. of Agriculture and 13th president of the LDS church) speaking many years ago (1960's approx) of exactly what is happening today, to this great country. It is scary to think that this is where we are today.

The Prophet President Benson said, "Stand up for freedom no matter what the cost, it can help to save your soul and maybe your country."

We need to be aware of the thing that are going on. We need to do our best to stand for the thing that are right, to be vocal about the things we CAN NOT stand for and to rally others to do the same. We have the responsibility in these latter-days to be a beacon to the world for truth and righteousness. We can not stop now, for now is the time of greatest need.

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing" - Edmond Burke

Thanks Sarah for letting me steal this and for sharing it.

Spring!!!

I love Spring! It is my favorite time of year. The crisp air, the light warmth of the sun, the newness of the flowers, the budding of trees, the cleansing, fresh smell of rain. I just love all of it!

Last week the boys and I were out front and noticed we had bulbs coming up already! Then Nic and Matt had to go around the yard to see if we had any other things coming up. We found a lot more bulbs and a bunch of columbines, poppies and lilies all over the garden. They were so excited every time they spotted something green. (even if it was a weed)

Here are some of the flowers that have already bloomed.

We got the garden and yard cleaned out this weekend and we should have more blooms soon. Happy Spring!!!
